Privacy Policy

Vent Covers is the responsible party for the personal information collected on this website. For any privacy question or request, email orders@ventcovers.co.za.

When you place an order we collect:

• your name,
• your email address and, if you give it, your mobile number,
• your delivery address and province or area,
• what you ordered, the amount paid, and PayFast's payment reference.

When you use our contact form, we receive the details you put in your message. We do not collect or store your card or bank details. Payments are made on PayFast's website, which handles those details itself.

• to process your payment and fulfil and deliver your order,
• to send you your order confirmation and delivery updates,
• to answer your questions and handle returns or refunds,
• to keep records we are required to keep by law, and to prevent fraud.

We only use your information for these purposes. We do not sell it, and we do not send marketing messages without your consent.

We share your information only with service providers who help us run the shop, and only what they need to do their job:

• PayFast, to take payment (your name, email, mobile number and the order amount).
• Courier companies, to deliver your order (your name, address and contact number).
• Hosting and database providers (Vercel and Neon), which store our website and our order records.
• Our email provider (Resend), which sends order confirmation emails.

Some of these providers store or process information outside South Africa, for example in Europe or the United States. We only use providers that protect personal information to a standard comparable to POPIA. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.

We keep order records for as long as needed to fulfil your order, handle returns and warranty claims, and meet our legal and accounting record keeping duties. After that we delete or anonymise them.

Our website uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). Order records are kept in a password protected database, and access to them is limited to the people who need it to run the business. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we will tell you and the Information Regulator as the law requires.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our staff area uses a single cookie to keep a person logged in, and that cookie is not used by customers.

You have the right to:

• ask whether we hold personal information about you, and see it,
• ask us to correct information that is wrong or out of date,
• ask us to delete your information, unless we must keep it by law (for example, records of a completed sale),
• object to us processing your information, or withdraw your consent.

To use any of these rights, email orders@ventcovers.co.za with your name and order number. We may need to confirm who you are first. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you may complain to the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.
